TiVo HME Integration
So what the heck is HME? It is the abbreviation for Home Media Environment, and it allows for people like the guys at DigitalDroplet.net to write stuff to make TiVo's even more fun for all of us.
The HME setup include a Tivo, a home network, and a computer. Lots of TiVo owners have already taken advantage of home networking for using their broadband connection to allow a TiVo to 'call home'. Well, HME lets you make use of all those hours stringing cables, or tuning your wireless network to run programs on your computer which can talk to the TiVo.
AudioFaucet was born of an app that we really wanted to have. It seemed like a great fit to have music play on TV through the TiVos that were already set up on every TV in the house! Add in cover art, browsing through all the music on our desktop machines tucked away in the office and integration with Apple's iTunes software, and we had sold ourselves on the idea of creating AudioFaucet.
